I'm looking for stories about the rural Midwest between 1920 and 2020. I'm currently working on histories of rural zoning in Rhinelander, Wisconsin; school consolidation near Milan, Minnesota; migrant farm workers in Michigan; reservation-to-urban migrations of Native people across the Midwest, and lawyers in Storm Lake, Iowa.

I am also interested in the stories of people who grew up in rural Midwestern communities but have since moved to urban communities, especially those who moved to Chicago during the Bureau of Indian Affairs Relocation Program. If you have a story to tell about rural life in the Midwest, especially if it has to do with migrant farm workers, lawsuits, local ordinances, sheriffs, and schools, please contact me via the form. I'd be grateful to hear your story.

    Please, tell me your story.
